The Vrijhaven series is made up of 4 ‘zines with interviews with, and essays by, Netherlands-based and Japan-based creative practitioners. Themes that were covered included High-Low Culture?, Center-Periphery?, and Identity Formation?

Sakamoto is owner of Voyage Kids. A gallery and artist goodshop in Osaka, the "Zine Swap Meet Camp" has been traveling around the country as a mobile store since 2015. The conversation is about his love for zines, stereotypes, and how every area has its own flavor.

Lavinia Xausa uses lense-based media to express herself, she is based in Rotterdam. We discuss genres in art, and how she develops her projects which focus on historically underrepresented people.

Toru Kase is a graphic designer, mainly producing, providing and exhibiting graphic work. He is based in Tokyo. We discuss how using tools in a certain way influences your work, locality, and the power of childhood experiences.

Maru Asmellash is co-founder of The New Originals, and founder of the Kazerne Reigersbos, art, culture and community space in Amsterdam. We talk about starting a fashion brand, talent development, crafts, subcultures, and community building.
